At the ASEAN Summit or Summit in Cambodia on 13 November 2022, Indonesia received the mandate to hold the 2023 ASEAN Chairmanship. Carrying out this mandate, Indonesia carries the theme "ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth" which at the same time resonates with the success of Indonesia's G20 Presidency in 2022. "ASEAN Matters itself consists of 3 important elements, namely strengthening the capacity and effectiveness of ASEAN, ASEAN unity, and ASEAN centrality. Meanwhile, the epicentrum of growth is related to ASEAN's role as the center of regional and world economic growth and consists of 4 important elements, namely health architecture. , energy security, food security, and financial stability," said Expert Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for Regional Diplomacy Ngurah Sriwijaya, during a Public Lecture at UPH, Tangerang Regency, Monday (13/3/2023).
For this reason, Indonesia takes an important role in ASEAN's participation in developing the world economy. Including following the example of South Korea which is able to enter many countries in introducing its customs, culture and language. This can be used as an example for ASEAN countries in strengthening collaboration between countries. According to Ngurah, the Indo-Pacific could follow South Korea's strategy in boosting the country's economy. Where, the strategy through the entertainment sector is considered very efficient, which can be seen from the large number of international people who know South Korean culture."We can emulate the strategy carried out by South Korea by introducing its culture through dramas, bands and other entertainment sectors. And we can take this as an example to strengthen collaboration," he said.
