Pupuk Indonesia stated that the Ministry of Agriculture has set the allocation for fertilizer subsidies in Samosir Regency, North Sumatra, to increase by 15 percent to 13,931 tons in 2023, from the previous 12,018 tons for two types of fertilizer, namely urea and NPK. "The allocation of subsidized fertilizers in Samosir Regency for 2023 reaches 13,931,095 tons for the type of urea and NPK fertilizer. This has increased by 15.91 percent compared to the 2022 allocation of 12,018 tons for types of urea and NPK fertilizers," said PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) Vice President Sales Region 1 Wawan Arjuna in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday. Wawan said that the allocation of fertilizer subsidies in Samosir Regency will be distributed to nine sub-districts according to applicable regulations. The details of the allocation consist of 7,552 tons of urea fertilizer and 6,378 tons of NPK. Wawan ensures that all of the subsidized fertilizer allocation will be received by farmers who meet the criteria, as stipulated in Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 10 of 2022 concerning Administration Method of Determining the Allocation and Highest Retail Price (HET) of Subsidized Fertilizers in the Agricultural Sector.
In this regulation, the government focuses on fertilizer subsidies on two types, namely urea and NPK. , namely there are nine commodities that receive fertilizer subsidies, starting from food crops such as rice, corn, and soybeans. Then, horticultural crops consisting of chilies, shallots, garlic, to the plantation sub-sector consisting of smallholder sugarcane, coffee and cocoa. In other words, those other than the nine commodities are no longer entitled to subsidized fertilizer allocations. "In 2023, farmers who are entitled to fertilizer subsidies will also change from previously being included in the e-RDKK, now they will become e-Allocations, which are electronic devices and procedures that function to collect and develop subsidized fertilizer allocation data," added Wawan. Wawan revealed that the stock of fertilizer subsidies in Samosir Regency was recorded at 663 tons as of February 21, 2023 or 100 percent of the minimum requirement set by the government. This subsidized fertilizer stock will be distributed to nine districts, namely Sianjur Mula-Mula, Harian, Sitio-tio, Palipi, Nainggolan, Onan Runggu, Pangururan, Ronggur Nihuta, and Simanunda according to the allocation from the Samosir Agriculture Service. Realization of the distribution or distribution of subsidized fertilizers in Samosir Regency was recorded as having reached 2,533 tons consisting of 1,251 tons of urea and 1,302 tons of NPK as of February 21 2023. Meanwhile in North Sumatra Province, subsidized fertilizer stocks were recorded at 29,183 tons or the equivalent of 171 percent of the minimum stock provisions, namely 17,009 tons. That way, the stock of fertilizer subsidies prepared by Pupuk Indonesia will meet the needs of farmers for the next three weeks, while in terms of actual distribution or distribution, 31,025 tons have been distributed consisting of 16,825 tons of urea and 14,200 tons of NPK.
