Jokowi Calls RI's Economy Growing 5.3%, Will Be Number 1 in the World!

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is optimistic that Indonesia's economic growth in 2022 will reach 5.3% on an annual basis (year on year/yoy).
It is believed that Indonesia's economic growth projection of 5.3% will place Indonesia's economy in 1st place among other G20 countries.
"We should be grateful that our economy is growing very well. In the third quarter of 2022 it was at 5.72%, inflation was under control at 5.5%," Jokowi said during the 2023 National Imlek celebration yesterday, quoted Monday (30/1/2023).
"My estimate is that (Indonesia's) economic growth will be at 5.3%. Compared to the big G20 countries, as far as I remember, if it's not number 1, then we are number 2 among the big countries," Jokowi said again.
On this occasion, Jokowi invited all Indonesian people to be grateful, because they had managed to get out of the past from the Covid-19 pandemic.
At present, said Jokowi, life in Indonesia is starting to recover gradually, and is even in a transitional period towards normal.

"We should be grateful if we remember 2020, if we remember 2021, if we remember 2022. When the pandemic hit, we all stuttered, were confused about what policy we should make," said Jokowi.
Jokowi said that at that time, Indonesia and many other countries were fighting over PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), fighting over vaccines, and running around looking for medicines. The health workers, said Jokowi, were even struggling in preparing oxygen.
Public places such as malls, cinemas, places of worship, to small shops and shopping centers such as Tanah Abang must also be closed.
"Therefore, don't forget to be grateful that the PPKM has been revoked at the end of 2022 in December," he said.

Jokowi also thanked the whole community, because during the Covid-19 pandemic, people could work together to help each other.
At a time when life is now normal, Jokowi hopes that the culture of gotong royong will be maintained, so that together we can rise and be optimistic about catching up.
"Because the situation is normal as it is today, we invite all of us to work hard, rise optimistically, to catch up with us," said Jokowi.
