The Bogor City Government is Working with Minimarkets to Market 10 Local MSME Products

The City Government of Bogor, West Java, is working with minimarkets to market 10 local micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) products that passed the selection of 100 entrepreneurs who registered their products. Bogor Deputy Mayor Dedie A. Rachim in Bogor City, Wednesday, hopes that MSME players who pass the grade to enter minimarkets can increase their production so they can fill hundreds of minimarket shops in Bogor City. "Yes, I hope that MSME players who are now entering minimarkets continue to improve product quality, packaging, cleanliness and the number of products marketed," he said. According to him, the Bogor City Government's program which encourages MSME products to reach a wider market cannot be separated from the collaboration with various partners. Training for MSMEs to level up by the Office of Cooperatives, MSMEs, Trade and Industry (DiskopUMKMdagin) together with various partners, ministries and communities has delivered a range of products for micro and small entrepreneurs to be able to compete with big industries. A total of 10 MSME products from Bogor City have been marketed by 21 stores out of 185 retail stores in Bogor City. Their product was first launched at Indomaret Drive Thru Pajajaran on Wednesday (14/12).

Dedie advised that MSME food entrepreneurs who have been displayed in the retail store immediately increase their production so that they can be found in all minimarkets. In addition, Dedie hopes that the 90 MSMEs who have registered will continue to improve their products so that they can also be marketed in minimarkets. Dedie revealed, even if the 100 MSMEs enter minimarkets, the number is still very small with data on 68,000 MSMEs registered at DiskopUMKMdagin. "So actually, we are still far from the fire when we look at the numbers. But we are grateful to the minimarkets that are willing to market MSME products, hopefully there will be more in the future. Deputy Branch Manager of Indomart Bogor Branch Bhenika Bayu Aji explained that it can be marketed at Indomaret stores, MSME products must have the required standards, the most important of which are licensing from the local government, product quality, expiration date and attractive packaging. "So licensing is important for food products, that is a sign that it has been selected by the government. What we market in stores are products that are licensed and already have halal certificates," he said.
