To achieve the vision of increasing the flow of foreign investors into the country, the International Business Association (IBA) signed an MoU with the Ministry of Investment/BKPM. The collaboration was carried out to maximize the promotion of regional potential to a wider network and facilitate access for investors. This memorandum of understanding was signed by the General Chairperson of IBA, Shan Shan and the Deputy for Cooperation of BKPM RI, Mr. Riyatno, Monday (13/12). The general chairman of IBA, Shan shan, explained that currently IBA has presented an investment promotion center in Batam. The aim is to facilitate access for investors to hold direct meetings with stakeholders in each region who can directly provide information regarding the potential of each region. Apart from Batam, IBA will also establish an Indo Investment Center in Bintan. The Indo Investment Center will later become the largest investment promotion center for regions in Indonesia's 38 provinces
Shan Shan explained that the presence of this investment promotion center will play an important role in national development in the investment sector and is a form of IBA's support for the target of accelerating investment realization. By signing this memorandum of understanding, it is proof that IBA has the legitimacy to be involved in encouraging investment progress in Indonesia. Separately, Riyatno, as the deputy for investment cooperation, said that in fact the collaboration with IBA had started before today's signing, where IBA had held several events or activities related to investment in Batam by inviting regional heads and BKPM delegations as resource persons. With a target of 1450 trillion in 2023 by President Joko Widodo, BKPM RI hopes that the collaboration with IBA can become a form of supporting partnership to achieve this target.
