The Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia said, the series of activities for Nusantara Day which will be held on 10-14 December 2022 is a strategic program to awaken regional potential that can support national priority programs. In addition, he encouraged local governments (pemda) to develop a blue economy in the marine and food sectors. He conveyed this encouragement while attending the commemoration of Archipelago Day in Wakatobi, Tuesday (13/12/2022). "The downstream industry with the potential development of this area is not only limited to mining, but will continue in the food and marine sectors, which is in line with the President's instructions to develop a blue economy. Currently, we are also preparing a downstream roadmap for fishery products. as well as seaweed which is developed into processed food products or other derivative products," he said. This year, said Bahlil Lahadalia, Wakatobi was chosen as the host of the event because it is a marine tourism which is the pride of Indonesia and has been known to the world as a real piece of paradise.
Based on data from the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, the realization of domestic investment (PMDN) in Southeast Sulawesi in the January-September 2022 period reached IDR 17.8 trillion and foreign investment (PMA) of USD 11.36 billion. The investment realization succeeded in absorbing 9,865 Indonesian workers. In the same period, investment realization in Wakatobi Regency itself received PMDN of IDR 3.3 trillion and a total PMA of USD 15.3 million. The holding of Nusantara Day 2022 is in line with the Indonesian Government's commitment to achieve emission-free in 2060, which is expected to grow the sector's potential investment in the blue economy, green economy, and circular economy sectors. The series of activities commemorating Archipelago Day which took place December 10-14 included Clean Sea Activities, Health Service, Love to Eat Fish Campaign, Archipelago Culinary Contest throughout Southeast Sulawesi Province, Investment Forum: Strengthening Regional Investment Strategy, exhibitions, public entertainment stages, promotions stunting health. Declaration of Hand Washing with Soap (CTPS) and Villages to Stop Open Defecation (SBS), Seaweed Harvest, Mangrove Planting, Release of Hatchlings, as well as the highlight of the 2022 Archipelago Day commemoration.
