Ministry of Trade Ensures CPO Export Rights Ratio Policy Has Not Changed

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) ensures that currently there is no change in the quota ratio for export rights for crude palm oil (CPO) products and their derivative products. Plt. The Director General of Foreign Trade, Didi Sumedi, said that the provisions remained at 8 times the amount of the validation results for the implementation of domestic market obligation (DMO) fulfillment for CPO and/or cooking oil reported through SIMIRAH. This statement was made by Didi to ensure that the policy has not changed at all, which is still 1:8. The government has not planned to make changes to 1:9 or other changes. "Currently, the quota ratio for export rights for CPO and its derivatives is eight times that of DMO for CPO and/or cooking oil," said Didi in a press release, Monday (28/11/2022). "The government has not planned to make changes to this policy. in the near future by observing the condition of the availability of cooking oil in the domestic market which is still sufficient with a stable price level that is affordable by the public. Other information outside of these provisions is a hoax and is not true," he continued. This rule is also regulated in the Decree of the Director General of Foreign Trade Number 18 of 2022 concerning Application of the Multiplier Ratio as the Basis for Determining Export Rights for Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil which took effect from 1 November 2022.


The regulation states that the quota ratio for export rights for CPO and its derivative products is currently valid at 8 times the amount of the validation results for the implementation of the DMO for CPO and/or cooking oil reported through SIMIRAH, as the basis for establishing Export Rights for Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Olein, dan Used Cooking Oil. The Decree of the Director General of Foreign Trade Number 18 of 2022 is the implementing regulation of the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 49 of 2022 concerning the Management of the People's Cooking Oil Program and the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 50 of 2022 concerning Export Provisions for Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil. Didi emphasized that if there is a change in the rules, the Ministry of Trade will definitely inform them officially. "For that, confirm the source of the information again and check the truth of the information," concluded Didi.
