The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the export value of Indonesian jewelery and valuables during the January-August 2022 period had reached USD 2.71 billion or around IDR 40.8 trillion (exchange rate of IDR 15,000 per US dollar). This value jumped 54.81% over the same period the previous year. In January-August 2022, Switzerland became Indonesia's largest jewelry export market share, with an export value of USD 1.25 billion. This value accounts for almost half (45.85%) of the total exports of this commodity. The next largest jewelry export destination countries are Singapore with a value of USD 373.09 million, Jordan USD 300.34 million, United Arab Emirates USD 234.45 million, and the United States USD 232.17 million. After that, there was Hong Kong with an export value of jewelry and valuables worth USD 225.66 million, Japan USD 18.95 thousand, Italy USD 18.8 thousand, Mexico USD 10.93 thousand, and South Korea USD 7.76 thousand. Indonesian jewelry items from these 10 countries reached USD 2.67 billion in January-August 2022. This figure jumped 54.96% compared to the first 8 months of the previous year.
