Boosting Superior Cocoa Production, Jembrana Collaborates with Puslitkoka

Various efforts have been made to increase the potential of the agricultural sector which has produced export commodities, one of which is cocoa. To boost cocoa production, the Jembrana Regency Government has collaborated with the Coffee and Cocoa Research Center (Puslitkoka) Jember, East Java. Head of the Indonesian Cocoa Research Center Dini Astika Sari in the meeting hall of the Indonesian Coffee & Cocoa Research Center Jember, Wednesday (12/10/2022). After the signing of the MOU, the Regent together with the head of the related OPD saw firsthand the well-formed cocoa ecosystem.
The Regent of Tamba saw firsthand the process from seedling to processing cocoa beans into finished products and saw the seeds to be taken from the Puslitkoka to boost cocoa production in Jembrana. A total of 50 thousand seeds were taken by the Jembrana Regency Government sourced from the APBD. The remaining 300 thousand seeds will be taken from the assistance of the Ministry of Agriculture. His party expressed his admiration for the conditions at the Indonesian Research Center. Besides being a research center, Puslitkoka also operates as a vehicle for agro-tourism. His party admitted that he wanted something like this to be implemented in Jembrana Regency. He hopes that with the establishment of this collaboration, cocoa production will increase, both in terms of quantity of production and quality of cocoa beans. “From this collaboration, the results will be good to support Jembrana Emas 2026. Produce good quality cocoa products. In terms of quality and aroma, including quantity. We will serve chocolate to guests who come to Jembrana," he said.
