Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) Sandiaga Uno invited investors to invest in the development of infrastructure and tourism support in Klungkung Regency, especially in the area of three islands namely Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan. "These three areas have in recent years attracted tourists to visit because they offer a variety of quality and sustainable tourism attractions," said Sandiaga in a written statement on Sunday, September 18th, 2022. Sandiaga said there are investment opportunities with a total value of more than IDR 320 billion that are ready to be offered. He said the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is developing the investment opportunity in the form of a ready-to-offer project because there is already a DED or detailed engineering design. Most of the investment opportunities include infrastructure investment to tourism supporting equipment. This, said Sandiaga, will be immediately followed up by the Deputy for Industry and Investment of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. In addition to that, the ministry will also promote it in every roadshow it undertakes.
Besides being expected to support the revival of the tourism sector and the creative economy by opening up job opportunities, the investment opportunity is also useful for redistributing so that Bali is no longer overcrowded in one part, but also areas such as Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan. Sandiaga said they offer potential and their sensation. Of the various potentials, Sandiaga stated that investment in infrastructure development is one of the focuses of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. He also directly monitors infrastructure in Nusa Penida, such as roads and telecommunications which must continue to b strengthened. He added that with good infrastructure, it will certainly invite more tourists, whose average visits are currently between 2,000 and 3,000 tourists per day.
"Earlier we spoke with the Regent, the road condition is already full of people, moreover later the situation will get better. We see the potential for cooperation to build it through the public-private partnership or PPP scheme for infrastructure," said Sandiaga. Sandiaga is also optimistic about turning Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan into the “Golden Triangle” as a leverage point for the Klungkung and Bali regencies, in general, can be realized. According to him, this is also in line with the government’s steps in generating tourism to create 1.1 million new jobs this year, as well as 4.4 million new jobs in 2024.
