Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have an important role in national economic growth. In line with the government's program to restore the national economy, Customs and Excise is actively providing assistance and education to MSME players so that they can develop their business for export. The efforts of Customs and Excise in developing exports have paid off as export performance has strengthened in a number of regions. The export launch was officially inaugurated by the Governor of West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Mahyeldi, in the courtyard of the West Sumatra Governor's Office, on Monday (29/8/2022).
In addition to the Teluk Bayur Customs and Excise, the release of rendang and kalio spices was attended by a number of agencies and related parties, including representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, the Head of the West Sumatra Cooperative Service, and the Chair of the Padang Ikaboga Cooperative, Ida Nursanti. As a result, one tonne of rendang and kalio spices were exported to the destination country of Norway. “The release of this export is the beginning for more Indonesian products, especially West Sumatra, not only to Norway but to all European regions. We hope that this export can be a concrete contribution to helping SMEs in West Sumatra," said Hatta. Hatta said the release of the export of culinary products also took place in Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province. Meanwhile, as proof of optimizing customs services, Parepare Customs and Excise accompanied the export of palm kernel shells to Japan, on Thursday (01/09). Export activities are carried out by PT Jambi Semesta Biomass with export commodities of 9,661.66 MT of oil palm shells with an export value of USD 995,150.98.
