The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) is accelerating the development of the Indonesian Green Industrial Estate (KIHI) located in Tanah Kuning – Mangkupadi, Bulungan Regency. "The government also continues to coordinate in accordance with its authority," said Kaltara Governor Zainal Arifin Paliwang in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan, Monday. He said so far the discussions have been carried out in the form of licensing in coordination with relevant ministries and agencies. He said that several permits related to the area will be further checked by the Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. Meanwhile, the licensing that is the authority of the Kaltara Provincial Government has been completed. In fact, he said, in the near future Coordinating Minister Luhut will again visit Kaltara to directly monitor the development of KIHI, which is scheduled for October 2022 with a number of other ministers. To accelerate the construction of KIHI, his party provides ease of licensing and conducts periodic monitoring and evaluation (monev) by regional devices in Kaltara from August 1 to the end of December 2022. "I convey to Mr. Luhut, if we in the ranks of the Kaltara Provincial Government also routinely hold monev, as a form of full support, we oversee the process of accelerating KIHI," said Governor Zainal. Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Regional Development Planning and Research and Development Agency (Bappeda-Litbang) of Kaltara, Helmy in Jakarta some time ago discussed the latest data on the acceleration of KIHI development by PT Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI). Until now, according to him, the land acquisition process carried out by PT KIPI has reached 30 hectares. For the location leased by the petrochemical plant carried out by PT Tsingsan, a Steam Power Plant (PLTU) will be built for its electricity supply. "For now, a power plant will be built, while waiting for the construction of the Kayan River hydropower plant to be completed," said Helmy. The Environmental Impact Analysis (Amdal) from PT KIPI is targeted to be completed on August 22, 2022. PT KIPI has completed the master plan document consisting of the Suitability of Space Utilization Activities (KKPR), Amdal, Traffic Impact Analysis (Andalalin) and Industrial Estate Business Permit (IUKI). "The HGB document is already in the finalization stage," he said. Another progress, said Helmy, is the construction of a special port construction which is about one kilometer long from the groundbreaking site which was carried out at the end of 2021. In that area, land acquisition of about 20 hectares has also been carried out which will be used for housing or mes for employees and heavy equipment storage for area managers.
