Build Indonesia's Economic Resilience, Minister of Industry Optimizes Shopping for Local Products

The government emphasizes the need to optimize the purchase of domestic industrial products through the procurement of goods and services by the central, regional and state governments. This is considered capable of building independence and national economic resilience, even having an impact on the economy of the lower class. Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that currently the potential for central and regional government spending reached Rp. 1,071.4 trillion, and Rp. 400 trillion of which would be absorbed through spending on domestic products throughout 2022. the value of the commitment to purchase domestic products (PDN) is Rp. 216.77 trillion from 18 ministries/agencies, 34 provincial governments, and 276 city/district governments," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/5/2022).

The Minister of Industry emphasized that his party is determined to continue to carry out the program for Increasing the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN). This program aims to make domestic industrial products absorbable in goods and services procurement projects for the central and regional governments, to state-owned enterprises. "Until April 7, 2022, there are 13,891 domestic industrial products with a domestic content level value (TKDN) of more than 40%, and there are 7,574 industrial products with a TKDN value between 25-40%," he said. Furthermore, according to Agus, the P3DN program is a concrete step in favor of domestic industries and products in order to provide opportunities for domestic industries to develop and increase their competitiveness. "So that our industry players will also be able to fight in the global arena," he added.
