The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) stated that the realization of People Business Credit's (KUR) in the marine and fisheries sector in the first quarter of 2022 increased 35.71% on an annual basis to IDR 2.46 trillion from IDR 1.81 trillion in the first quarter of 2021. The Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) Artati Widiarti in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, said this shows that the KUR absorption strategy by MSME actors initiated by the KKP is starting to bear fruit. "Alhamdulillah, this year there has been a drastic increase (KUR realization)," said Artati. Not only in terms of value, he continued, KUR recipients in the first quarter of 2022 also increased by 14.14% compared to last year.

Artati revealed that last year 53,460 KUR recipients in the first quarter, this year to 61,019 debtors, or more business actors who access financing from the state. "This shows the presence of the state in maintaining and increasing the competitiveness of fisheries MSMEs during the pandemic," she said. Based on the line of business, the largest KUR distribution was in the cultivation business of IDR 871.38 billion, followed by the processing and marketing business of IDR 870.99 billion, and the fishing business of IDR 547.56 billion.

Then in terms of distribution, the largest KUR distributions were respectively occupied by Central Java with IDR 362.3 billion, East Java with IDR 354.8 billion, South Sulawesi with IDR 239.4 billion, and West Java with IDR 230.9 billion. Based on the KUR scheme distributed, 85.1% accessed the Micro KUR with a maximum ceiling of IDR 100 million, and the remaining 14.9% accessed the Small KUR scheme with a maximum ceiling of IDR 500 million."What is interesting and another good news is that the largest KUR realization growth occurred in North Sulawesi Province, namely 92.0%," said Artati. For information, in order to increase the distribution of KUR in the marine and fisheries sector, the Directorate General of PDSPKP has made several efforts, including the recruitment of 78 marine and fisheries business assistants (TPU KP) spread across 34 provinces. These TPU KPs are placed in priority locations to support Cultivation Villages, Advanced Fishermen's Villages, Competitiveness Clusters, processing centers, and other KKP priority locations. During the first quarter of 2022, TPU KP has collected data and provided guidance to 1,382 business actors with a financing realization of IDR 3.67 billion, from various financing sources, which were distributed to 179 business actors. "We will not stop educating about financial literacy in order to increase the understanding of business actors about good financial management," said Artati.
