Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Expands Capacity of 500 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) With Proud Program Made in Indonesia

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) seeks to increase the capacity of around 500 MSMEs from all over Indonesia through the Made Proud Indonesia program by providing financial management materials to digital marketing. "This is part of the Proudly Made in Indonesia (BBI) movement and our commitment to increase the capacity of MSMEs," explained the Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP), Artati Widiarti in a release in Jakarta, Friday. Artati revealed, since March 24, 2022, technical guidance on onboarding Shopee Batch 1. has not stopped at online classes, until now, intensive assistance is still being carried out for MSMEs who follow the technical guidance. Then, he said, Batch 2 activities were carried out on April 12, 2022. "Not only with Shopee, on April 18, digital marketing technical guidance was also carried out by Gojek," he explained. Meanwhile, the Marketing Director of the Directorate General of PDSPKP, Erwin Diwiyana, explained that KKP is also cooperating with the logistics aggregator, Shipper in the BBI program this time.

As a form of support for MSMEs, Shipper agreed to provide discounts related to warehousing services and logistics for shipping goods. Then there is also a collaboration with Yokker to train and prepare the site for each selected MSME at the BBI peak event in South Kalimantan in July. "We are synergizing and collaborating with various parties to boost MSMEs to advance to class," said Erwin. On this occasion, Erwin ensured that the BBI program was a form of KKP's alignment with MSMEs. Moreover, through this program, MSMEs are not only taught how to open a shop, but are also given tips to make their shop sell well. All MSME businesses, whether culinary, handicrafts, fish and their products, as well as other MSME products, are open to joining the BBI program.

"There are various programs ranging from basic, intermediate and advanced level training. And those who pass will be promoted nationally," he explained. Erwin expressed his hope that through the BBI program, fishery MSME products could be of higher quality, both in terms of products, packaging and marketing. That way, the public as consumers are increasingly proud of products made in Indonesia. For information, since May 14, 2020, President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Proudly Made in Indonesia (BBI) movement. Through this movement, President Jokowi invites the public to be proud of using Indonesian products. Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono also appealed to all parties to continue to promote the movement. "The COVID-19 pandemic is still in our midst, the proud national movement made in Indonesia and proud to travel in Indonesia alone, must continue to be promoted towards a new Indonesia against the COVID-19 pandemic," said Minister Trenggono.
