The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) again held the Startup4Industry Program which is the Making Indonesia 4.0 movement with technological solutions from startups to encourage the implementation of technology in industry and society based on solving problems in the industry. "I hope that the Startup4Industry Program can continue to maintain and develop the Industry 4.0 ecosystem and become a hub between technology providers, industrial needs and society, associations, government, and also the private sector," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Dody Widodo, virtually, Tuesday. On that occasion, Dody read the remarks of the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the Startup4Industry National Seminar and the Opening of the Startup4Industry Program Series. Dody invites Indonesian tech startups to join and become part of the Startup4Industry ecosystem. He said that the world has adopted digital technology, where it has not only changed the way people buy but also how they make decisions and create new business models.
Based on data from the e-Conomy SEA 2021 Report, Indonesia's digital economy in 2021 will reach 70 billion US dollars and is predicted to grow to 146 billion US dollars in 2025 with an annual growth (CAGR) of 20 percent. "This value is very large and we must be able to take advantage of it. Therefore, one of the strategies that must be taken by the Indonesian government is to accelerate the transformation of technology both in the industrial sector and in society," said Dody. According to him, since Making Indonesia 4.0 was launched, there have been many efforts and work to realize this. The development of the Digital Industry Center 4.0, the appointment of five Industry 4.0 lighthouses, as well as the rapid growth of Indonesian tech startups and digital talents are some of the efforts and work that has been done. "Now is the time for us to show concretely how technological transformation can help the industry grow and develop," said Dody. Through the theme “Inspiring Industry Transformation”, Startup4industry 2022 will showcase the results of Indonesian tech startup solutions to inspire and spur industry and society to take a big role in the Industrial revolution 4.0. The Director General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, said that the program was a real step to develop technology-based startups in accordance with the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJM) and the 2020-2024 Ministry of Industry's Strategic Plan.
