Secretary-General of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Maulana Yusran is optimistic that with the visa on arrival and quarantine-free policy in Bali, hotel occupancy will increase by an average of 20%. So far, foreign tourists should follow the provisions related to quarantine, visas, and insurance. Maulana saw that the current policy made it easier for foreign tourists to visit Bali. "The potential for increasing hotel occupancy in Bali is optimistic that it will increase from the current condition, which can be above 10%. Our expectations can increase by an average of 15-20% until the end of the year, that's our hope", explained Maulana, Monday (7/3/2022). Maulana continued, Bali is very dependent on foreign tourists. It can be seen from the hotel occupancy contribution of almost 70% of foreign tourists.
"From the hotel perspective, Bali's occupancy contribution is 70% from foreign tourists. It means that automatically if we only talk domestically, there will be an oversupply of rooms, only 30% at the highest," said Maulana. This optimism is supported by implementing the warm-up vacation that applies the bubble system in Bali and an increase, although not much. In addition, the G20 government agenda that will be held in Bali will also increase hotel occupancy. This policy is a breath of fresh air for the tourism sector and the Bali hotel industry. "There is no quarantine, there is more convenience with visa on arrival, of course, the potential for increased occupancy from tourists will be open. We expect that it will continue to increase," said Maulana. The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia issued a regulation for opening a Visit Visa on Arrival specifically for tourism for 23 countries. This rule takes effect from Monday, (07/03/2022) and only applied to foreign tourists who will visit Bali.
