President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave a speech at the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN). In his speech, the President encouraged the restructuring of the health architecture. At the beginning of the speech, the President said that the results of the UN General Assembly were awaited by the world community to answer the world's main concerns. The world wants to get answers regarding when will society be free from the COVID-19 pandemic? When will the economy recover and grow inclusively? How will the planet's resilience be guaranteed in the future? and When will the world be free from conflict, terrorism and war?
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, recovery is the main concern of every country. This includes economic recovery. "Global economic recovery can only take place if the pandemic is under control and countries can work together and help each other for economic recovery," said President Jokowi in a virtual speech at the 76th United Nations General Assembly Session, Wednesday, September 22, New York time or Thursday 23 September 2021 Indonesian time. "Indonesia and other developing countries open the door as wide as possible for quality investment, which opens up many job opportunities, transfers technology, increases human resource capacity and is sustainable," he added.
In addition, Indonesia's commitment to the resilience of a low-carbon development climate and green technology is clear and unequivocal. But the President reminded that the energy and technology transformation process must facilitate developing countries to participate in industrial development and become technology producers. The COVID-19 pandemic reminds us of the importance of spreading vaccine production centers in many countries around the world.
