Dentons HPRP, a leading law firm based in Jakarta and part of the global Dentons network, has formalized a strategic collaboration with PT Banten West Java Tourism Development, the developer and operator of the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (KEK), and a key member of the Jababeka Group. This agreement aims to jointly promote Indonesia’s non-industrial Special Economic Zones—special areas designed to attract investment by offering regulatory and fiscal incentives—on the international stage. The partnership will initially focus its outreach efforts on investor markets in Singapore, leveraging Dentons’ extensive global network to raise awareness and attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into Indonesia’s tourism and related sectors.
Under this collaboration, Dentons HPRP will also serve as a preferred legal services partner, providing comprehensive legal support to PT Banten West Java Tourism Development and its stakeholders. This support will include advising on inbound investment transactions, regulatory structuring, land and real estate matters, hospitality and tourism project frameworks, cross-border legal issues, and other matters that may arise in developing and operating tourism-focused special economic zones. The Tanjung Lesung destination, located less than two hours from Jakarta and known for its coastal beauty and tourism potential, is highlighted as a key opportunity for growth. This collaboration reflects Dentons HPRP’s ongoing commitment to facilitating global investment into high-potential Indonesian regions while assisting developers in navigating complex legal and regulatory pathways.
