Dentons HPRP has successfully assisted PT Sariarthamas Hotel International (“SHI”), owner of Sari Paciific Jakarta Hotel, in a Hotel Franchise Agreement with Global Hospitality Licensing S.À R.L., part of Marriott International group, the largest and most prestigious chain-brand hotels in the world.
With the signing of the agreement, Sari Pacific Jakarta has officially rebranded as “Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection”, part of the Marriott International portfolio of more than 250 specially selected independent hotels. Its location in a premium area in Jakarta and its having become a historic hotel with its own uniqueness since its establishment in 1976 are the reasons for Marriott International to choose Sari Pacific as the first Autograph Collection hotel in Jakarta. As for the Mariott International, this is the first time the company has applied a franchise structure in its hotel business in Indonesia.
In this important agreement for both parties, Dentons HPRP’s hospitality team, led by Al Hakim Hanafiah and supported by Trijoyo Ariwibowo (senior associate), Alma Almira (associate), Kevin Silitonga (associate), was appointed as the Indonesian counsel to provide legal assistance, among others, legal advisory, legal due diligence, preparing all requirements for the hotel agreement, as well as representing PT SHI in negotiating with the counter party.
Currently, PT SHI is owned by PT Parna Raya and PT Sarinah. As PT Sarinah is a State-Owned Enterprise Company, the official launch of Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection was also witnessed by Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir.
