President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that the growth of the digital economy and industry 4.0 in Indonesia is the fastest in Southeast Asia. This is because Indonesia has around 2,193 startups, the fifth largest in the world. Indonesia also has 5 unicorns and Indonesia even has 1 decacorn.
In the future, the Head of State believes that this industry will contribute to Indonesia's GDP of around USD 133 billion in 2025. Supported by 185 million people who have internet access, the fourth largest in the world.
"The progress of industry 4.0 will make Indonesia the top 10 global economy in 2030," Jokowi explained at the opening of the Hannover Messe 2021, at the State Palace, Monday (12/4/2021).
The former governor of DKi Jakarta added that digital technology is currently a very important part of the Covid-19 pandemic. Because according to him, technological transformation creates momentum not only to bring the world out of the pandemic, but at the same time to take a big leap forward.
"This is the big vision of Indonesia, a golden Indonesia. Which is realized through industry 4.0," said Jokowi.
