Two companies based in Papua, PT Indoprima Utama Mina and CV Putra Raja Bahari, have successfully achieved their inaugural export of premium fishery commodities to international markets this February. This milestone was made possible through intensive assistance and synergy provided by the Sorong Customs Office to ensure compliance with export regulations. On February 21, PT Indoprima Utama Mina dispatched 26 tons of frozen Spanish mackerel to China, generating an export value of approximately USD 46,500. This achievement demonstrates that Papua’s fishery potential is highly competitive and capable of meeting the rigorous standards of the global market.
Following this success, CV Putra Raja Bahari exported 1.9 tons of live grouper to Hong Kong on February 23, further expanding the region's trade footprint. The Sorong Customs Office emphasized that providing comprehensive administrative and technical support is key to helping local businesses penetrate foreign territories. This successful initial export is expected to serve as a strong motivation for other regional enterprises to capitalize on global opportunities within the marine sector. By fostering a culture of regulatory compliance and operational readiness, Papua is well-positioned to become a significant contributor to Indonesia's national export growth.
