Indonesia's fishery industry has achieved a significant regulatory milestone as 57 Fish Processing Units (UPI) officially secured export approvals to the markets of Türkiye and China. This development follows a rigorous certification and inspection process conducted by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to ensure that Indonesian seafood products meet the high food safety and quality standards required by these strategic trade partners. This achievement not only broadens Indonesia's international market footprint but also reinforces the global reputation of the nation's processed fishery products as being safe, high-quality, and sustainably produced.
For association members and industry stakeholders, these new licenses present a lucrative opportunity to scale up export volumes and diversify market destinations beyond traditional partners. The government continues to facilitate technical assistance and streamline administrative procedures to encourage more local processing units to attain international certification. By strengthening compliance and fostering closer bilateral trade relations, Indonesia aims to maximize the economic value of its maritime resources. This expansion is expected to drive regional growth, create new employment opportunities, and solidify Indonesia’s position as a leading global supplier in the seafood industry.
