The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has launched a strategic "Business Matching" initiative in early 2026 to bridge the gap between small and medium-scale fishery enterprises (MSMEs) and the modern retail sector. This program is designed to empower local producers by providing a direct platform to showcase high-quality, processed fish products to major retailers and distributors. By fostering these partnerships, the KKP aims to standardize product quality and packaging, ensuring that local fishery products meet the rigorous requirements of modern markets while increasing their nationwide accessibility.
This initiative serves as a vital catalyst for economic growth within the maritime sector, encouraging MSMEs to innovate and scale their operations. For association members and industry stakeholders, this development signals a significant shift toward a more integrated supply chain, where traditional producers are given the tools to compete in high-end retail environments. Through consistent coaching and market facilitation, the government remains committed to transforming the fishery industry into a resilient pillar of the national economy, ensuring that Indonesian seafood products become a staple in every modern household.
