Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza urged Indonesia’s food and beverage (F&B) sector to continue innovating and expanding exports, highlighting the subsector’s strategic role within the non-oil and gas manufacturing industry (IPNM). In 2025, IPNM grew by 5.30%, outpacing national economic growth, with F&B contributing 41.06% to the subsector and employing 6.67 million workers. Investment in the F&B industry reached IDR 80.49 trillion, demonstrating its strong role in driving economic growth and job creation.
Faisol emphasized the potential of natural ingredient extraction industries in creating high-value products for both domestic consumption and export markets. The Ministry of Industry supports these efforts through policies enhancing competitiveness, local supply chains, workforce skills, and technology adoption. Companies like PT Haldin Pacific Semesta exemplify this approach, converting local spices, coffee, tea, and cocoa into globally competitive products while partnering with local farmers to ensure quality and equitable economic benefits. These initiatives aim to strengthen the agro-industrial ecosystem, expand market access, and elevate Indonesia’s industrial competitiveness sustainably.
