Indonesia shipped 1,852 containers of Cs-137-free certified shrimp to the United States between late October 2025 and early February 2026, totaling approximately 155,999 tons with an estimated value of IDR 5.3 trillion. Of these shipments, 1,027 containers have already arrived at major US ports, including Los Angeles, Houston, Oakland, New York, Chicago, Kansas, Baltimore, Norfolk, Savannah, and Miami, while 825 containers remain in transit. The exports originated from fish processing units in Java and Lampung.
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) oversees the certification process, ensuring each shipment meets stringent quality and safety standards required by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono emphasized that the robust Cs-137-free certification and consistent quality assurance measures have been pivotal in opening US market access, strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian seafood products internationally.
