Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture is moving to deepen technical cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to support animal health, biosecurity, and broader agricultural development, with an eye toward boosting food security and livestock competitiveness. The initiative follows a visit by USDA leadership and U.S. agribusiness representatives, highlighting mutual interest in strengthening trade and innovation linkages that benefit both countries’ agricultural sectors.
Discussions focused on expanding market access and technology transfer while safeguarding sustainability in Indonesia’s domestic industries. The planned cooperation is expected to enhance the resilience and value-added potential of Indonesia’s livestock and food systems, support smallholder producers, and create more opportunities for bilateral trade and investment under shared frameworks.
