Indonesia’s capital market saw continued growth as the total number of investors reached 21,037,426 single investor identifications (SID) by the end of January 2026, up 673,218 from December 2025. Stock investors alone neared 9 million (8,980,318 SID), reflecting an increase of 367,958 SID over the same period. Throughout 2025, capital market investors grew by over 5.49 million, while stock investors increased by more than 2.23 million, showing strong and sustained public interest in equity markets.
Trading activity during January 23–30, 2026, displayed mixed trends. Average daily transaction value rose 29.28% to IDR 43.76 trillion, while transaction frequency increased slightly to 3.82 million per day. Average daily volume, however, fell 3.69% to 63.3 billion shares. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed at 8,329.61, down 6.94%, and IDX market capitalization dropped 7.37% to IDR 15,046 trillion. Foreign investors recorded net sales of IDR 1.53 trillion on the day, totaling IDR 9.88 trillion in 2026 so far.
