The Riau Provincial Government recorded positive economic growth of 4.98% in the third quarter of 2025, solidifying Riau's position as the province with the 6th largest GRDP in Indonesia. The Regional Secretary of Riau Province, Syahrial Abdi, stated that this achievement serves as a vital foundation for the 2026 economic strengthening strategy. Next year’s policy focus will be directed toward transforming the economic structure to move away from raw material exports and instead strengthen the processing industry sector through downstreaming programs for local resources such as palm oil, coconut, sago, and rubber.
For association members and business players, this provincial strategy offers new investment opportunities, particularly in optimizing potential commodities that have not yet been fully utilized, such as coconut. Through synergy between the government, financial institutions, and the private sector, Riau is committed to creating a more inclusive and competitive industrial ecosystem. By strengthening local potential and developing industrial zones, Riau's economy in 2026 is expected to continue rising steadily, effectively controlling inflation and providing an equitable welfare impact for the entire community.
