Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have agreed to strengthen cooperation to accelerate the development of a sustainable green industrial zone in Morowali, Central Sulawesi. The three-year collaboration focuses on eco-industrial park development, green mineral supply chains, community empowerment, and human resource capacity building, in line with international UN standards and Indonesia’s long-term development vision.

UNIDO representatives reviewed IMIP’s facilities and initiatives on emission reduction, environmental protection, workplace safety, and ESG implementation in the nickel industry. The partnership is expected to serve as a pilot model for sustainable industrial zones in Indonesia, supporting green industrial transformation while generating economic and social benefits for surrounding communities.
