Indonesia Seeks to Strengthen Global Partnerships Through Cultural Collaboration

Indonesia is positioning culture as a key driver of international cooperation through the Indonesian Cultural Outlook 2026, according to Minister of Culture Fadli Zon. Speaking at the event in Jakarta, he emphasized that the initiative aims to expand partnerships with governments and institutions worldwide, in line with Indonesia’s constitutional mandate to promote national culture within global civilization. Amid global uncertainty, culture is viewed as a unifying force that can offer collective solutions to shared challenges, fostering dialogue and cooperation beyond political differences.

By inviting representatives from around 60 countries, Indonesia aims to deepen collaboration in the cultural industry, particularly in cultural heritage preservation, museum development, and human resource capacity building. The Ministry of Culture also highlighted its ongoing efforts through international platforms such as the Indonesia-Pacific Cultural Synergy and the CHANDI Summit. Showcasing Indonesia’s vast cultural wealth, the minister noted the country’s extensive tangible and intangible heritage, including hundreds of heritage sites and thousands of cultural assets. Looking ahead to 2026, the ministry will prioritize stronger protection, wider access, skills enhancement for cultural communities, development of a culture-based economy, improved infrastructure, and stronger international cultural representation, inviting global partners to collaborate toward shared and sustainable outcomes.
