The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, highlighted that Indonesia has become one of the most proactive countries in opening global trade access throughout 2025. This achievement is driven by the successful implementation of several strategic agreements, including the EU-CEPA, and partnerships with Peru, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, Indonesia’s active participation in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and its ongoing technical reviews for OECD membership and CPTPP accession have placed the nation in a "pole position" compared to its regional peers.
This strategic openness is supported by Indonesia’s strong economic foundations, such as competitive energy costs, an improving quality of human resources, and a resilient domestic market. For industry stakeholders and association members, this policy offers a significant opportunity to boost export volumes and integrate more deeply into the global supply chain. The government continues to encourage collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to promote competitive products from special economic zones, ensuring that Indonesia remains a premier alternative for global economic growth and investment.
