The Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) for Papua Province has recorded an extraordinary achievement in the international trade tax sector, with revenue surging by 558.9%, reaching IDR 5.83 trillion of the 2025 State Budget target. This stellar performance was primarily supported by the export activities of flagship commodities from Mimika Regency, Central Papua, which has become a major mineral distribution hub through Portsite Harbor. This increase was driven by high export volumes and improved commodity prices in the global market, directly strengthening the contribution of export duties to state revenue in Eastern Indonesia.
For industry stakeholders and association members, this milestone underscores the strategic role of Mimika’s mining and export sectors in maintaining Papua's economic resilience amidst global challenges. DJPb Papua is committed to further enhancing coordination with relevant agencies and local governments to optimize tax services and oversight. Moving forward, this synergy is expected to ensure taxpayer compliance while supporting sustainable infrastructure development in Papua, positioning the international trade sector as a primary engine for regional economic growth.
