The Government of Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) and the Government of Canada held a meeting to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation. The discussion involved the Governor of NTB and Canada’s Minister of International Development, focusing on potential collaboration in sectors such as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), health, education, tourism, fisheries, environmental protection, and women’s empowerment. Both sides emphasized the importance of developing cooperation based on mutual benefit rather than traditional donor–recipient relationships.
Canada also expressed interest in supporting sustainable development programs in NTB, including clean energy initiatives and community-based projects. NTB was highlighted as a strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region due to its geographical position and development potential. The meeting marked a step toward long-term, equal partnerships aimed at improving social welfare, economic growth, and sustainable development in the region.
