The agricultural and livestock sectors in Rembang Regency achieved a significant production milestone in 2025, recording an overall growth of 6.84% compared to the previous year. According to the local Department of Agriculture and Food Security (Dintanpan), total production across key commodities—including food crops, horticulture, and livestock—reached 8.57 million units. A major highlight of this surge was the 50% increase in rice production, which rose from 199,331 tons in 2024 to 295,825 tons in 2025. This achievement has enabled the region to maintain a rice surplus for nearly 30 months, significantly strengthening regional food security and the local economy.
For industry stakeholders and association members, this upward trend is attributed to strategic interventions such as stabilized fertilizer supplies at affordable prices, favorable market rates for harvests, and enhanced agricultural infrastructure, including improved irrigation systems and farm wells. In the livestock subsector, populations of cattle, goats, and sheep also showed steady growth, with a particularly sharp increase in broiler chicken production reaching 7.17 million. As these results foster a more resilient investment climate, the Rembang regional government remains committed to maintaining this production stability and ensuring long-term self-sufficiency through continued technical support and infrastructure optimization for the farming community.
