The economy of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is projected to experience rapid acceleration in 2026, supported by a combination of industrial downstreaming, a thriving tourism sector, and the implementation of international-scale events. According to projections from Bank Indonesia and local economic observers, the province’s growth is expected to surpass national averages. This optimistic outlook is anchored by the full operational capacity of the Amman Mineral International copper smelter in West Sumbawa, which is shifting the regional economic structure from raw material extraction to high-value industrial processing.
Beyond the mining sector, the tourism and hospitality industries are set to remain primary growth engines. The sustained popularity of the Mandalika International Circuit and various international sporting events continue to draw significant foreign and domestic investment into the region. To ensure this growth remains inclusive, the provincial government is focusing on strengthening the agricultural and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sectors to integrate them into the global supply chain created by these large-scale developments. Officials emphasize that maintaining regional inflation and improving human resource readiness will be critical factors in realizing this high-growth trajectory.
