PT PepsiCo Indonesia has officially started its industrial-potato cultivation program in West Java by partnering with local farmers—the first planting took place in Kabupaten Bandung Barat. The initiative aims to strengthen the supply chain using local raw materials and to support sustainable agriculture in Indonesia.
PepsiCo Indonesia plans this as a long-term effort to enhance farmers’ capacity, contribute to national food security, and build a resilient local agriculture system. The first harvest is expected in February-March 2026. Through the program, named Lay’s GrowerConnect, farmers are receiving training in planting techniques, productivity improvement, efficient fertilizer and pesticide use, and sustainable farming practices. Some petani (farmers) were even sent to Chiang Mai, Thailand—where PepsiCo has decades of experience in industrial-potato farming—to learn proven methods in seed selection, land management, fertilization, and harvest optimization.
