The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has announced that Indonesian shrimp exports to the United States between October 31, 2025, and the end of December are expected to reach 10,000 tons—equivalent to around 605 containers — with a total value of roughly IDR 1.8 trillion. The declaration was made by the Head of the Quality Control and Supervision Agency for Marine and Fishery Products, Badan Mutu KKP, during a release event at Tanjung Priok Port on December 3.
KKP emphasized that all shrimp for export have passed radiation testing and are certified free of contamination by Cesium-137 (Cs-137), meeting standards set by the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA). The certification process involved inspection and scanning at processing units in Java and Lampung, and from October 31, 2025, KKP has been the official certifying agency. This marks a renewed export effort after earlier shipments—the latest involved 182 tons worth about IDR 25 billion.
