Indonesia has introduced the Meticulous Artificial Intelligence of Indonesia (MaiA), a new AI-driven platform designed to enhance and simplify the travel experience for both domestic and international visitors. Launched by Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana during the “Transforming Travel Beyond Ordinary Through Intelligence” event in Jakarta, MaiA represents a key component of the Tourism 5.0 program. This initiative aims to elevate tourism services through adaptive technology that aligns with global travel preferences for seamless and convenient journeys. The Minister emphasized that MaiA underscores the government’s commitment to building a smart, inclusive, and sustainable tourism ecosystem.
Accessible via the indonesia.travel website, MaiA offers personalized destination recommendations, automated itinerary planning, interactive maps, and multilingual summaries to streamline travel research. The platform also features an interactive chatbox, voice input, and word correction tools, allowing users to ask flexible and detailed questions. Available in several languages—including Indonesian, English, French, Arabic, and Cantonese—MaiA is free for all users and designed to provide instant guidance tailored to diverse tourist needs. With its comprehensive features, the platform is expected to enrich visitor engagement and make Indonesian tourism more interactive and accessible.
