Indonesia’s Sports Equipment Exports Reach USD 84.78 Million in Early 2025

Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry reported that the export value of the national sports equipment industry reached USD 84.78 million from January to August 2025, marking a 24.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to Trademap data. Reni Yanita, Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industry, highlighted that the achievement not only reflects strong economic growth potential but also embodies national pride in the quality of locally made sports products. The industry has seen significant expansion over the past decade, contributing to both economic advancement and job creation, with 15,663 workers employed across 128 business units as of 2023, absorbing a domestic market value of IDR 2.3 trillion.

To address challenges such as reliance on imported materials, limited export access, and high certification costs, the Ministry continues to promote the increase of Domestic Component Level (TKDN) and provides technical support for small industries. In collaboration with KONI and KOJI, the government supports international certifications like FIFA Quality Programme, BWF Approved Equipment, and ITF Approved Product. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to becoming not just a consumer but a global producer of high-quality sports equipment. As part of this effort, the Indonesia Sport Facility Expo (ISFEX) 2025, held from 6–9 November in BSD City, Tangerang, aims to boost promotion, networking, and innovation within the sector.
