The East Java Governor, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, led a working visit to Bondowoso Regency to launch the export of Arabica Java Ijen Raung specialty coffee from Rejoagung Village, Sumberwringin District, on November 1, 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening Bondowoso’s position as a key player in Indonesia’s coffee industry and its growing presence in international markets. This export shipment to Taiwan reflects the competitiveness of Bondowoso’s coffee, supported by its Geographical Indication (GI) certification ensuring authenticity and premium quality.

Bondowoso Regent Abdul Hamid Wahid emphasized that this achievement symbolizes the collective success of farmers, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, academics, and government institutions. Governor Khofifah praised the collaboration that has turned Bondowoso into the renowned “Republic of Coffee,” highlighting the province’s continued support for agricultural innovation and regional empowerment. The export event demonstrates East Java’s strategic push toward a people-centered economy while encouraging other regions to develop their distinctive commodities and expand global trade networks.
