Exotic Tenun Fest 2025 Stimulates New Economic Growth in East Nusa Tenggara

From 10-13 September 2025, Bank Indonesia holds the Exotic Tenun Fest (ETF) 2025 at Lippo Plaza Kupang. The objective of this event is to stimulate the growth of new economic sources based on micro, small, and medium enterprises, with a view to fostering a robust, inclusive, and sustainable economy in East Nusa Tenggara. The expansion of new economic sources with the potential of East Nusa Tenggara's MSMEs is important and relevant amid the challenging global and national economic conditions. This year, one of the key agendas is business matching, which includes one-to-one meetings, showcases of exceptional products, and promotional sessions designed to expand domestic and international market access. In addition, talk shows and masterclasses will be held.

The event gathered 51 MSMEs from various districts and cities in East Nusa Tenggara, with a focus on three key sectors, namely weaving, coffee, and culinary. The momentum of ETF 2025 is expected to strengthen competitiveness through collaboration with the provincial government, stakeholders, and all relevant parties. Furthermore, the ETF 2025 is poised to play a pivotal role in catalysing the creative economy sector, positioning it as a significant catalyst for economic growth and fostering the development of local distinctiveness. East Nusa Tenggara ikat weaving is not merely a handicraft product, but rather a testament to a rich ancestral heritage, serving as an identity and philosophy that has been preserved and continues to be a living tradition. In the future, efforts must be made to ensure the collective protection of the intellectual property rights of East Nusa Tenggara ikat weaving.
