From January to May 2025, the Ministry of Trade successfully recorded total transactions of USD 68.65 million, equivalent to IDR 1.1 trillion, through its business matching activities, representing a 19.16% increase compared to January–April 2025, which recorded total transactions of USD 57.61 million. The Ministry of Trade is implementing business-matching activities to connect Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) with foreign buyers directly and strategically. This facilitates the participation of UMKM in global trade and the execution of actual transactions. During the initial five months of 2025, the Ministry of Trade successfully organised 296 business-matching activities through Indonesia's trade representatives in 33 accredited countries, including 197 pitching sessions and 99 direct meetings between UMKM and potential buyers. During the May 2025 period, the total business matching achievements generated potential transactions worth USD 11.05 million. This comprised purchase orders of USD 10.65 million and potential transactions of USD 400,000. This achievement is a positive indicator of Indonesia's UMKM export performance.
In May 2025, 50 business-matching activities were held, consisting of 32 pitching sessions and 18 meetings with buyers. A total of 119 UMKM participated, representing various product categories, including fashion, handicrafts, home decor, fried locusts, fisheries products, coffee, paper, and other processed food and beverages. Furthermore, over 17 buyers were involved, with 7 buyers from partner countries indicating opportunities for sustainable long-term partnerships. As part of the business matching initiative, the Ministry of Trade has received active support from 11 UMKM mentors, including strategic institutions such as Padi UMKM, Bank Indonesia, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Negara Indonesia, the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI), the Indonesian Export Insurance Agency (ASEI), and Pertamina.
