Bank Indonesia is once again hosting the Festival Ekonomi Syariah (FESyar) Sumatera, an annual event aimed at strengthening collaboration among stakeholders in developing the sharia economy across Sumatra. Scheduled from June 21 to 25, 2025, at Lampung City Mall, this year’s festival positions Lampung as the epicenter of sharia economic growth in the region. Hendra, the 2025 FESyar Sumatera Chair, emphasized during a media briefing at Bank Indonesia's Lampung office that the initiative highlights the growing synergy between the central bank and various stakeholders. He noted that regional collaboration is crucial to building a robust and inclusive sharia economic system.
The festival is built around three strategic pillars: the Halal Product Ecosystem, Islamic Finance, and Education & Lifestyle Inclusion. A wide range of signature programs will be featured, including the expansion of KHAS Zones (offering Culinary, Halal, Safe, and Healthy products), Muslim-friendly tourism initiatives, the Waqf Awareness Movement, and Sharia Economy Training of Trainers (ToT). These activities will take place through exhibitions, public education sessions, business matching, competitions, and Islamic-themed entertainment. By fostering a supportive ecosystem and enhancing public awareness, FESyar aims to create sustainable local economic growth and promote Lampung as a leading model for sharia economic development in Indonesia.
