The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is partnering with local governments and SOEs to simplify the fisheries export process and boost Indonesia’s export performance. Recently, the KKP’s Quality Assurance Agency, alongside Customs, the Bengkulu Trade Office, BPOM, and PT Garuda Indonesia, held a coaching clinic in Bengkulu to explain export procedures and promote easier access for businesses. Ishartini, Head of the Agency, emphasized stronger coordination among ministries and SOEs to encourage greater community participation in fisheries exports, with proactive efforts already underway in the regions.
The event saw overwhelming interest from fisheries businesses and MSMEs, who learned about streamlined licensing, product registration, and export documentation processes. Support from PT Garuda Indonesia was also highlighted for shipping fisheries products abroad. Starting in Bengkulu, the program will be expanded nationwide through KKP’s technical units. Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono reaffirmed the goal of making Indonesian fisheries globally competitive through quality assurance from production to export.
