PUPR Ministry Builds Roads and Bridges to Support Food Granary Connectivity

In addition to carrying out rehabilitation work and improving irrigation networks, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will also improve connectivity to the location of developing new food barns or food estate areas in Central Kalimantan Province (Kalteng). PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said connectivity between regions is needed so that the mobility of goods, services and people is more efficient. With better connectivity, it is hoped that the regional economy will improve. "The construction of road and bridge infrastructure will improve connectivity and accessibility, in addition to providing alternatives for residents to increase economic productivity," Basuki said in a written statement, Friday (6/11/2020).

The increased connectivity includes improving the quality of roads and bridges to the Dadahup Irrigation Area, Kapuas District and DI Belanti, Pulang Pisau Regency with a total length of 76.8 km. The work is estimated to require a budget of IDR 792.37 billion (MYC). Currently, the progress is still in the auction stage, which is targeted to sign a construction contract in mid-November 2020. To increase connectivity to DI Dadahup, it is planned that the total length to be handled is 34.68 km which is divided into 3 work packages and an improvement in the condition of the DI Dadahup area bridge along 60 meters, with a budget allocation of Rp 336.96 billion.

Furthermore, for connectivity to DI Belanti, it is planned that the total length to be handled will reach 41.85 km which is divided into 5 work packages and an improvement in the condition of the DI Belanti bridge area along 170 meters, with a budget allocation of Rp 455.41 billion.
