The potential for investment to have an impact is actually very large in Indonesia. However, even though it can have a positive impact on society in addition to generating financial benefits, currently it has not been worked on in Indonesia. Based on Mekar Indonesia’s data, the potential of impact investment in the energy sector can reach US$ 4.44 billion or nearly Rp65 trillion.
In the agri-business and fisheries sector, the number can reach up to US$ 3.15 billion (Rp46 trillion) and in the water sector the number can potentially reach up to US$ 2.4 billion (Rp31 trillion). The total for the three sectors reaches Rp 142 trillion. "Indeed, the investment potential is large, but no one has entered it yet," said Mandiri Capital Indonesia CEO, Eddi Danusaputro, in a webinar entitled Sustainable Investing Opportunities, Katadata SAFE Forum 2020, Tuesday (25/8).
