The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded coffee imports classified under HS0901 reaching USD 32.07 million in March 2024, showing an increase of 18.04% month-to-month (mtm). "Coffee imports classified under HS0901 in March 2024 amounted to USD 32.07 million, or approximately increased by 18.04%," said Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, in a press conference, Jakarta, Monday (22/4/2024). Amalia explained that the main countries exporting coffee to Indonesia are Vietnam and Brazil. However, Indonesia also exports coffee, reaching a value of USD 87.45 million in March 2024. "Coffee was also exported in March 2024, with our coffee exports amounting to USD 87.45 million," she said.
Based on separate records, the Ministry of Trade noted, according to the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) report, Indonesian coffee bean exports to the Egyptian market in 2023 ranked first among all countries, with a value reaching USD 92.96 million or approximately IDR 1.46 trillion. In a previous BPS report, the value of Indonesian coffee exports to the world reached USD 1.612 billion or IDR 25.5 trillion. Of this amount, Indonesian coffee in the Egyptian market represented 5.24% of Indonesia's global coffee export market share. Several Indonesian companies exporting coffee to Egypt include PT Asal Jaya, PT Taman Delta Indonesia, PT Olam Indonesia, PT Golden Coffee Bean, PT Asia Makmur, PT Ulubelu Cofco Abadi, PT Sarimakmur Tunggal Mandiri, PT Vastav, PT Sulotco Jaya Abadi, and PT Kans Agro Indonesia.
