Bupati Pakpak Bharat, Franc Bernhard Tumanggor, and Bupati Samosir, Vandiko Timoteus Gultom, ST, signed a Joint Agreement and Interregional Cooperation Agreement on Development in the Balai Benih Ikan Complex, Janji Martahan Village, Harian District, Samosir Regency, on Wednesday (3/4/2024). This collaboration will encompass the development and exchange of fisheries and shallot farming technologies, the supply of fish and shallots from Samosir to Pakpak Bharat Regency, the supply of gambier from Pakpak Bharat for ulos fabric dyeing in Samosir, as well as bamboo as a raw material for crafts in Samosir, along with various other potential collaborations. During the event, Bupati Pakpak Bharat, Franc Bernhard Tumanggor, expressed hope that the collaboration between the two regencies would be a blessing for the neighboring areas. "We discussed the openness of access between the two regions, and emphasized that these two areas must cooperate and support each other towards progress," stated Bupati Franc Bernhard Tumanggor.
During the event, the two neighboring district heads also witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements on the development of agricultural and fisheries flagship products by the Head of the Food Security and Agriculture Agency of Pakpak Bharat, Adei Johan M Banurea, and the Head of the Food Security and Agriculture Agency of Samosir, Tumiur Gultom. Subsequently, cooperation in the field of coaching and facilitating the trade of shallot commodities, fisheries, and MSMEs was also signed by the Head of the Cooperative, Industry, Trade, and MSME Agency of Pakpak Bharat, Sahat Parulian Boangmanalu, and the Head of the Cooperative, Industry, Trade, Labor, and MSME Agency of Samosir, Rista Sitanggang. Before signing the cooperation agreements, Vandiko Gultom invited Bupati Pakpak Bharat, Franc Bernhard Tumanggor, to tour the Balai Benih Ikan area and plant palm trees in the expansive area.
