In its Inaugural Endeavor for The Year 2024, INALUM Exports Aluminium to China

PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM) has initiated its 2024 export endeavors by successfully shipping 7,000 metric tons (MT) of G-1 series Aluminum Ingot to China. Mahyaruddin Ende, Corporate Secretary of INALUM, highlighted this achievement as a testament to the company's commitment to producing high-quality aluminum products meeting global standards and expanding its market presence beyond domestic borders. This export venture aligns with one of the mandates entrusted to the state-owned enterprise by the MIND ID Holding Company, emphasizing market leadership through mineral commodity optimization and business expansion strategies. Loading and shipping operations occurred at INALUM Port in Kuala Tanjung on March 28 and 29, 2024. Specializing in premium-quality Aluminum Ingot production, INALUM's offerings, particularly the 99.90% purity level, adhere to JIS h2102 and JIS H1305 standards. Weighing 22.7 kg per bar, these ingots undergo remelting processes to serve various end products such as automotive components and construction materials.

Wood Mackenzie's September 2023 research projected a surplus in Indonesia's aluminum market in the medium term, while the Asian market experiences deficits, presenting opportunities for domestic aluminum industries to expand their market share in the region. INALUM, as Indonesia's sole aluminum smelting and processing corporation, commits to becoming a leading global entity in environmentally friendly integrated aluminum-based industries. The company focuses on enhancing aluminum product quality and developing the national aluminum downstream ecosystem, including increasing production capacity and promoting green energy development. Mahyaruddin emphasized INALUM's focus on completing strategic projects to gradually increase production capacity, aiming to reach 500,000 tons within the next five years. Corporate actions, including constructing the Mempawah Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR), technology upgrades in 2023, optimizing the Kuala Tanjung Smelter, and the Aluminium Remelt IAA Diversification Project, aim to meet the high national aluminum market potential, currently at 1 million tons.
